As a professional technician, I tune and service your piano to the highest levels attainable. I offer you a piano care service that includes tuning. To perform its best, your piano should be tuned, regulated, and voiced. All damaged or worn parts should be inspected for adjustment, repair, or replacement.
Sound is a marvelous thing. It can either produce beautiful, therapeutic, inspiring, music, or it can produce irritating, disconcerting noise. I always care for your piano so that it can produce the beautiful sounds of music for which it was designed.
Many pianos sit untouched for long periods of time because the owner does not really enjoy playing it all that much. This is not just a matter of the owner's ability, it is also a matter of the owner's experience with the piano itself. If the piano is hard to play because of moving parts that are out of adjustment, or if the piano doesn't sound real good because of minute (or major) intonation (tuning) problems, the owner will not find much pleasure with the piano. Most owners in this situation greatly reduce their playing time or quit altogether. But when the piano is brought into both fine working order and fine intonation, the piano again becomes a joy to play. People actually play better on a well tuned piano . . . it's kind of a psychological/emotional phenomenon. The soothing harmonies that come from a well tuned instrument, regardless of whether the music is simple or complicated, kind of "draws" the player in. You play a few simple chords and feel, "Wow, that really sounds nice. Am I playing that?" The piano becomes what it was intended to become . . . an expression of YOU. When that happens, it is a real treat. For this to happen, the piano needs to be properly prepared. (Click here to learn what's involved in properly preparing your piano)
A typical service call lasts 2 hours and includes everything I can diagnose and fix in that time plus, of course tuning your piano.
